The lectures, discussions, workshops and seminars that were taking place in Bazaleti, contributed to better understanding of the challenges Green and Left political actors and movements face today, in-depth discussions on ongoing political, economic and social realities, building and securing coalitions between different activist groups, equipping young people interested in politics with the new knowledge and experience.
In addition to the Georgian speakers, Green Academy participants had the opportunity to meet the guests specially invited for the event. Among them, we shall emphasize Dr. Martin Muller, Swiss National Science Foundation Professor in the Department of Geography and Sustainability at the University of Lausanne. He delivered his lecture "How We Theorised from the North and South but forgot to think with the Easts" for Green Academy participants.
Silke Helfrich, an independent activist of commons was invited by hbs Tbilisi Office at the Green Academy Georgia. Helfrich delivered a lecture "Commons and Green Politics" for Green Academy Participants.
Silke Helfrich is a German author and independent activist of the Commons. She is a founding member of Commons Strategies Group. She was a regional representative of the Heinrich Boell Foundation in Mexico/Central America for several years.
Days were divided into four thematic directions - Post-Socialist Transformation, Commons, Right to the City and Gender and Neoliberalism.
