Caucasian Chalk Circle: Perceptions and Approaches of the Western Engagement

Adrian Brisku (Research Fellow, University of Helsinki) speaks about perceptions of Western engagement in the Caucasus, the way in which the three South Caucasian republics are viewed as a common metaphor, the paradox that unprecedented Western engagement has not resulted in a significant shift in the political, social and economic situation, and the West as a geopolitical and normative standard in the region.
