Bagrat Harutyunyan was born in 1981 in Armenia. In 1998, he was admitted to the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology at the Yerevan State University (YSU). In 2002, he obtained the BA degree, and in 2004, the MA degree in sociology. At present, he is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Sociology of YSU. Besides teaching several courses (sociological theories, sociological statistics and statistical methods of the analysis of sociological information), he is sociological research manager and co-ordinator of the non-governmental organisation “Armenian Democratic Forum”. His areas of scientific interest are research of mass communication, interaction and transformation of social institutes, as well as the problems of self-representation and cognitive models of ethnic awareness.
