In cooperation with the Heinrich Boell Stiftung Yerevan Office – South Caucasus Region, Hetq Media Factory implemented a project titled “Crosses without Names (German POWs of the WWII in Soviet Armenia).”

The proposed documentary project explores the untold stories of WWII POWs who perished far from their homelands, resting in nameless graves across the rugged landscapes of Armenia. The authors delve into these poignant narratives, including the story of a Romanian POW who married an Armenian and spent the rest of his life in Armenia, alongside others who returned home yet continued to visit Armenia, recalling their days in captivity.

The aim of this project was to complete the documentary by organizing a trip to Germany for filming interviews with German eyewitnesses, experts, and family members of POWs. Through this endeavor, a comprehensive visual narrative was created that encompasses both Armenian and German perspectives, making a unique contribution to the historical record.
