Climate Basics (CB) will be following UNFCCC 26th Conference of the Parties (COP) in Glasgow, UK. COP 26 is exceptionally essential and decisive underlining four aims: 1. Secure global net-zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees within reach; 2. Adapt to protect communities and natural habitats; 3. Mobilize finance; 4. Work together to deliver. Most importantly, countries and leaders will be asked to come forward with ambitious 2030 emissions reductions targets that align with reaching net zero by the middle of the century, mobilize finance required to secure global net zero, and finalize the Paris Rulebook.
Georgian delegation will be presented at COP26.
The main purposes of hbs Tbilisi`s and Climate Basics` cooperation project are the following:
- Promote transparency and accountability of participation by the Georgian side at COP-26.
- Raise Awareness on International Climate Change Negotiations, including role and importance of international climate change negotiations and COPs;
- Inform society about the COP26 decisions, announcements, and stream, including information and/or outcomes of interesting side-events.
