The Heinrich Böll Stiftung (hbs), affiliated with the German Green Party, is a legally independent political foundation. Headquartered in Berlin, we are running over 30 offices around the world. The hbs South Caucasus regional office was opened in Tbilisi in 2003, and its Yerevan branch office in 2017. The office is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The main goals of hbs South Caucasus are to promote A) democratic states and societies, B) feminism and gender equality, C) the sustainable use of natural resources and just development, and D) more diverse discussions on foreign policy, regional affairs, and conflicts. The communications and web manager
- Develops, implements, and monitors the communication strategy of the Office, in consultation with the Director, the program coordinators, and the multimedia manager of the Yerevan branch office;
- Is in charge of hbs Tbilisi office social media accounts (incl. Facebook, X, Instagram, Youtube)
- Plans and creates content (text, audio, and visual material) in collaboration with the program coordinators;
- Ensures regular and visually appealing postings;
- Monitors and analyzes engagement and provides regular qualitative and quantitative reports;
- Manages the office’s web pages www.ge.boell.org and www.feminism-boell.org
- Uploads articles;
- Proposes visual material;
- Ensures quality control;
- Creates, edits, and proofreads other marketing/communication materials in an appropriate and visually appealing way;
- Takes photos at and communicates our events;
- Concludes contracts with providers of (audio-)visual services (request for proposal, negotiations, conclusion of contract, monitoring of performance);
- Develops contacts with traditional media in Georgia and encourages media coverage of hbs projects and activities;
- Supports partner organizations in implementing our communication guidelines;
- Is the point of contact for the Berlin-based PR department, in consultation with the Director.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline;
- Minimum two years of experience in external communications work in a sensitive environment;
- Very good writing skills in Georgian and English (to draft posts and promotion material and ensure quality control);
- Very good IT skills, especially knowledge of web platform operations, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop or Illustrator, potentially Adobe Audition/Adobe Premiere), and MS Office;
- Good understanding of and interest in politics and current affairs in Georgia and the South Caucasus;
- Excellent ability to work strategically and in a goal-oriented way;
- Excellent time-management, communication and organizational skills;
- High attention to detail and sense of responsibility;
- Creativity and a good eye for design;
- Professional fluency in Georgian and English (written and spoken);
- Gender, diversity, conflict, and political sensitivity; intercultural competence;
- Identification with green values – ecology, justice, equality, democracy, peace – and the mission of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung.
Desirable:
- Experience editing texts in Georgian and English;
- Experience in producing multi-media products, such as podcasts and videos;
- Experience working in civil society, media, or international organizations;
- Knowledge of German;
- Demonstrated interest in development cooperation and Georgia’s relations with Germany/the EU.
