
Dr. Irakli Samkharadze is a legal professional, consultant, and certified project manager with over a decade of multicultural experience across Europe, with a particular focus on energy law and climate policy. He currently serves as an Energy Advisor at the German consulting firm OMNIA GmbH, where he supports partners in designing and implementing reforms for sustainable, competitive, and transparent energy markets. He earned his PhD in Energy Law from Tbilisi State University and completed postdoctoral research at the FU Berlin. Prior to that, Irakli was an international scholar at KU Leuven and a DAAD Research Fellow at Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
In addition, Irakli holds an LL.M. from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has extensive experience in cross-border project management and consultancy services commissioned by various international institutions. As a Professor and Head of the European Integration Research Centre at Georgian National University, he teaches multiple subjects and contributes actively to academic life. Deeply engaged with the international community working on energy, climate, and sustainable development, Irakli is a firm believer in a just transition that leaves no one behind.
