Farid Guliyev is an independent scholar who researches, writes and teaches about the comparative study of democratic (and non-democratic) institutions and the political economy of natural resources (including energy politics and policy). He earned his PhD in Political Science from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany, and holds a Master’s degree from Central European University. In 2015-2017, he served as a trainer working as part of Natural Resource Governance Institute’s (NRGI) oil, gas and mineral sector capacity-building program for Eurasia. Previously, Farid was a Fulbright Scholar at George Washington University (IERES) in Washington, DC.
