Eviya Hovhannisyan is a social anthropologist from Yerevan, Armenia. Since January 2018 she is an associate researcher at the Center of Oral History at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography NAS RA and at the Department of Anthropology at European University at St. Petersburg. She also works at the "Aleppo"-NGO as a researcher.
Eviya Hovhannisyan has graduated from Yerevan State University (Armenia) and European University at Saint-Petersburg (Russia); she has also been a Visiting Fellow within Ira.urban project at the Leibnitz Institute for Regional Geography (Germany). Eviya is also an alumnus of HBF South Caucasus regional scholarship program (2013).
Eviya Hovhannisyan’s research interests include issues of identity and nationalism, ethnopolitical conflict, migration and refugees studies. Eviya Hovhannisian is the author of a number of academic articles and book chapters published both in Armenia and abroad.
