Hamo Sukiasyan holds PhD in History (2010). He is an associate professor (2015), senior researcher at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at the National Agrarian University of Armenia. Since September 2006 he has worked as a lecturer at a number of universities of the RA.

His professional interests include the issues of the history of 20th century, including both the history of the First Republic of Armenia and Soviet Armenia, source studies, historiography, the activities of state administrative bodies, territorial and border issues, the history of typography, press, daily life, political thought, diplomacy and Armenian Studies. He is an author of 120 scientific works, including 10 books devoted to the aforementioned topics.
