Khatuna Gvaradze

Khatuna Gvaradze was born on 24th of June, 1970, in Gori (Georgia). She graduated from secondary school #10 in Gori in 1987. In 1993, she completed her studies of history at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University. From 1993 to 1996, she was a student of Georgian history at the Post-Graduate School of Javachishvili State University.

Ms. Gvaradze holds a Ph.D. which she obtained in 2002. The subject of her doctoral dissertation was “The institution of the “mamasakhlisi” (the elders) in East Georgia (from the ancient period up to the end of the eighteenth century)”.

Khatuna Gvaradze has been teaching general as well as specialized history courses at the Georgian and World History Departments of Gori State University since 1996. In addition, she has been employed at the historical-ethnographical museum of Gori since 2004.
