Kato Mikeladze - Unknown Herstories of Georgian Feminism

The goal of the project implemented in the period of July-December, 2013 was to introduce Kato Mikeladze, a feminist activist of the early 20th century to a wider public through research and publication and spread the word about the heritage she contributed to the feminist thought in Georgia.

The First Meeting of the HBF SC Scholars of the Year 2014

On January 26-31, 2014, the winter school and first meeting of the HBF SC scholars of 2014 took place in Tbilisi (Georgia). A group of ten early-stage researchers from Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, who were recently selected for the scholarship to conduct interdisciplinary research on a topic related to social and political issues of the South Caucasus states, gathered at the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation.

Gender in Scholarship Papers

Presented material is a collection of works on gender issues prepared by scholars of the South Caucasus Regional Office the Heinrich Boell Foundation's Scholarship Program. The presented studies belong to the young scientists involved in the social sciences in the South Caucasus region, who were at different times the scholars of the Foundation.

Summer School in Vale

On 27 September - 7 October 2010 the Centre for Studies of Social Practices in cooperation with a team of sociologists from Russia and Armenian partners organized Summer School with participation of HBF Alumni.

Conflict and Transformation in the South Caucasus

The one-week summer school "Conflict and Transformation in the South Caucasus" brought together 20 young researchers & NGO staffers from the South Caucasus and 10 experts in the field of post-communist transformation, national identity, conflict management, state building and Europeanization.

South Caucasus: Seeking for New Identity

On 25-31 of July 2009, in village Bakuriani a regular 6th Summer School was held under the framework of the South Caucasus Regional Scholarship Program of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Current year scholarship holders and alumni of the Foundation, as well as fellows from Germany participated in the Summer School.

About the Programme

In 2003-2014, the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation (HBS) has run a yearly “on site” scholarship programme for 25 up-and-coming academics in the social sciences from all South Caucasian nations.
