Heinrich Boell Foundation Tbilisi Office – South Caucasus Region cooperates with Indigo Fund since May 2020 within the framework of the project - Rebuilding Memory for Future.
The main goal of the project is to increase the awareness of the society about the background and the context of the conflict in South Ossetia. Conflict transformation is impossible without working on and researching memory. To that end, oral stories of war-affected persons will be collected and studied. The process of recording oral stories will involve young people, among others, to draw them closer to past events and help them to comprehend the present of the conflict in South Ossetia. In the same vein, the portal of shared memory will bring back into one space the experiences of those on different sides of the conflict and will turn the crucially important accounts into common narrative. Ultimately, all activities will aim on one hand to deal with the past, to ensure past mistakes are never repeated again, and on the other hand to increase younger generation's sensitivity and to boost the discussion and influence political agenda.
