Agհasi Tadevosyan holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology. He is a leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. From 2005 to 2024, he taught the subjects “Culture and Politics”, “Anthropology of the Urban Environment” and “Socio-Cultural Anthropology” at the Master’s Degree Programs in Ethnography and Culturology of the Faculty of History of Yerevan State University. In the 2012-2013 academic year, he was also a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.

The scope of scientific interests is the anthropology of the transition processes and identity transformations of late-Soviet and post-Soviet Armenia, the anthropology of war, the problems of migration, criminal subculture, poverty, the anthropology of learning and education.

He has published a number of books on the above-mentioned topics and about 90 articles in local and foreign scientific publication
