(closed project) The Centre for Cultural Relations – Caucasian House in cooperation with the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation, in 2016, implemented a project Green Ideas for Georgia’s Progressive Development. The project, through critical assessment and utilization of European experience, aimed to contribute to rethinking the principles of sustainable development and strengthening Green socio-political agenda in Georgia.

On Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2015, the Heinrich Boell Foundation hosted training in Batumi for the 12 environmental journalists. Here we present report of the event and the articles prepared by participants.

The South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation is inviting environmental journalists to participate into the four day training session. The main goal of the training is to increase the knowledge and capacity of Georgian journalists to report effectively on energy and environmental issues.

On June 12, 2015, the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation (HBF SC) organized the regional energy conference bringing together the representatives of academia, politicians, civil society, governmental organizations and international organizations, from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to discuss the prospects of the sustainable energy systems in the South Caucasus Countries. 

The professional NGO world is unable to reverse the major global trends. It can, however, prevent projects and policies by forging powerful alliances - and build alternatives.

In recent years, the South Caucasus energy transit corridor has occupied a significant place within the formation of the European Union’s energy security system.

Barbara Unmüßig, Co-President of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, contributed to Project Syndicate by demanding radical goals for sustainable development to succeed the United Nations' Millenium Development Goals.

(closed project) The project implemented by Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) in collaboration with the Green Alternative with the financial support of Heinrich Böll Foundation aimed to support environmental and social justice principles by strengthening the employees in the industrial zones, and the young civil society activists. As well as by increasing awareness towards the existing problem in the society.
