The Crisis In and Around Iran: Implications for Armenia’s Security

The protests that erupted in Iran in late December 2025 and the subsequent escalation of hostilities between Iran and the United States have rekindled discussions regarding a new military attack on Iran. What impact will these developments have on Armenia’s security and how might security risks be mitigated without compromising democratic principles? This article attempts to address these questions while introducing new dilemmas.

Hbs Yerevan Launches the Armenian Translation of David Leupold's Book

On April 29, the Heinrich Boell Foundation Yerevan Office – South Caucasus Region, the Turpanjian Institute of Social Sciences (AUA), and the Oral History Matters (OHM) initiative (AUA) hosted the official book launch of the Armenian translation of David Leupold's Embattled Dreamlands: The Politics of Contesting Armenian, Kurdish, and Turkish Memory in Akian Art Gallery at the American University of Armenia.

100 years after: the countries of the South Caucasus from the declaration of independence till 2018

In order to commemorate 100 years anniversary since the declaration of independence of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, the Heinrich Boell Foundation presents analytical articles that on the one hand, reflect on the main foreign and internal priorities of the first republics and on the other hand, analyze what is the impact of the short-lived experiences of statehood on the democratic political culture of the South Caucasus.

Armenian-Georgian Neighborhood: same directions or diverging paths?

Georgia and Armenia have strived to establish good neighborhood policy throughout centuries. There has been neighborly competition over certain issues but during the last two decades, governments of these countries have taken steps to develop joint initiatives in cultural, economic and political spheres.The South Caucasus Regional Office of the Heinrich Boell Foundation supports the regional dialogue between these two countries.

Solidarity Network for LGBTI in Armenia and Georgia

The Heinrich Böll Foundation South Caucasus Regional Office, with financial support of the EU, has initiated the implementation and overall supervision of a three-year action Solidarity Network for LGBTI in Armenia and Georgia, executed by a working group of NGOs - Women’s Initiatives Supporting Group (WISG), Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) in Georgia and Society Without Violence (SWV) and Public Information and Need of Knowledge (PINK) in Armenia.
